Oil on Panel
My regular artist materials supplier is, understandably given the current circumstances, taking longer to process orders. I put one in a few weeks ago but hadn’t anticipated it taking quite as long as it did to get my supplies and I ran out of white oil paint. In my eagerness to continue to work I put the same order in with an another materials supplier in the hope that they might be turning orders around quicker. Well we are all doing things a bit differently nowadays aren’t we?
Predictably the orders from both suppliers turned up the same day courtesy of masked couriers who lobbed them on the doorstep, took a quick photo of them to prove delivery, gave me the thumbs up and hurried on their way. I am awash with oil paint . . . particularly white.
Nowadays life seems to be all about ensuring that we have a stock of vital supplies. Thank heavens the toilet paper crisis has now abated and supermarkets have caught up with the demand on food stuffs. If we don’t want to run the gauntlet of coughing shoppers we can access our ‘favourites’ either via delivery or click and collect. This is of course if we are prepared to extend our waking hours long enough, diligently hovering vulture like with our mouse over a supermarket website, to grab the next ‘slot’ when it becomes available.
But some of us are getting supplies from new sources. I am lucky that I have some community minded people around and Vanda, a good friend, delivers huge trays of the loveliest eggs to me which I share with my neighbours. Lots of them are white . . . which I am now able to paint.
thank you Vanda.
