14 x 18cm
Oil on Linen
Just like the weather at the moment this one is still very wet so it’s tricky to photograph without getting glare or reflection. This is a reasonable likeness! Working to the fixed format (14x18cm or 18x14cm) is a challenge with the compositions of these pieces. This is the second iteration of this subject matter. So keen was I to get another one of these little pieces completed I rushed the composition and was unhappy with it. Unlike the rain at the moment it had a very brief existence.
I went to the Anthony Gormley exhibition at The Royal Academy on Wednesday and what a show it is. I don’t think that I’ve been to a major exhibition where absolutely every visitor I saw seemed to have a smile on their face. Gormley’s exhibition takes up more gallery rooms at the RA than any previous exhibitor and the whole thing has been so well thought out. The exhibits are spellbinding and the mind boggles at the logistics of getting the exhibits into the RA let alone staging them. If you get the opportunity then do go but you need to put a wiggle on because the exhibition ends on December 3rd.
Here is a very small taster from the exhibition:
